Training for a fall 2019 marathon?

Join me for group training runs this summer! I will be training to run the Marine Corps Marathon on October 27, 2019, and I would love some company on my long runs!

Most runs will be on Saturday mornings, starting at 8 am. The start time will likely fluctuate due to weather and heat concerns.

The first few will occur at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, VA. We will be running on the Cross County trail from the trail head leaving from the southern end of the lower parking lot. See map below!

Once we get into the longer runs in mid-late August, we will meet at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA. The loop trail will allow us to use our cars as aid stations so we can refill water bottles/bladders, grab fuel, etc.

Everyone is welcome, and free to run their own pace or distance. Personally, I do run/walk intervals, usually 1:45s or 1:1, with an average pace of 13:30 per mile.

  • June 29 – 6 miles
  • July 13 – 5 miles
  • July 27 – 10 miles
  • August 10 – 12 miles
  • August 17 – 13 miles
  • August 31 – 15 miles
  • September 7 – 16 miles
  • September 21 – 18 miles
  • October 5 – 20 miles
  • October 12 – 12 miles
  • October 19 – 8 miles
